Zine Workshop: Voice of Space
Create your own zine at The Drawing Center!
Inspired by our current exhibition Voice of Space: UFOs and Paranormal Phenomena—which explores the profound mysteries at the intersection of human experience, belief, and the unknown—this hands-on workshop will explore the question, "What role do UFOs and paranormal phenomena play in shaping our understanding of the universe, and how do they challenge or expand our beliefs about humanity’s place within it?"
Participants will learn zine-making techniques while discovering artistic responses to these phenomena, drawing from religious iconography, psychological interpretations, technological advancements, and theories of inter-dimensional space-time. Organized in collaboration with Misplaced Press and Teen Art Salon the workshop will also offer an opportunity to browse and purchase zines from the organizations' archives.
This event is free and open to the public. All art materials will be provided.
Generous support for Voice of Space: UFOs and Paranormal Phenomena is provided by Stephen Cheng, Kent Shao, the I.A. O’Shaughnessy Foundation, the Teiger Foundation, Sarah Arison, Martin and Rebecca Eisenberg, and Laurie and David Wolfert.
