Join the artist Susan York for a slide talk about her work, followed by a walkthrough of the long-term installation Susan York: Foundation in The Drawing Center’s Lab Corridor. Using graphite as a sculptural rather than a two-dimensional medium, York created replicas of parts of the museum’s foundation: irregular granite piers that protrude above the museum’s ground floor. Four graphite drawings, each mirroring the appearance of a pier, hang alongside York’s sculptural works, strengthening the ties between drawing and sculpture in her practice.

Susan York is a multi-disciplinary artist whose work engage the existing architecture of a chosen site. She lives and works in Santa Fe, NM. She holds a MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art.
