DrawNow! Online! with Teen Art Salon
For this series of drawing workshops with Teen Art Salon, young artists will use the sketchbook as a tool for experimentation, risk-taking, and reimagining. Featuring artworks from The Drawing Center’s 2020 exhibition 100 Drawings from Now, this series looks to the artist's sketchbook as cherished possession, visual diary, and confidante.
Guided by teaching artists Isabella Bustamante and Aneesa Razak, participants will explore individual style, the search for inspiration, and spatial awareness across the pages of their sketchbooks. Each participant will be given art prompts and exercises to deepen their conceptual and observational drawing skills in order to start reimagining the sketchbook as the foundation of an artistic practice.
Please note that participation in previous workshops is not required.
For ages 14-19, all levels of experience are welcomed.
Tips for a Successful Zoom Session
- Log in 5-10 minutes before the workshop begins to avoid any technical delays.
- Use a desktop or laptop for the best image quality. A tablet will also do, but on a smartphone, the image may be too small.
- Make sure you have a stable wifi connection before the workshop begins
