DrawNow! Online! with Teen Art Salon
Alongside Teen Art Salon, young artists will use the sketchbook as a tool for experimentation, risk-taking, and imagination. Featuring artworks from The Drawing Center’s current exhibition Fernanda Laguna: The Path of the Heart, this workshop looks to the artist's sketchbook as a cherished possession, visual diary, and confidante.
Guided by teaching artists Isabella Bustamante and Melissa Velasquez, participants will explore individual style and spatial awareness on and/or across the page. Each participant will be given art prompts and exercises to deepen their conceptual and observational drawing skills in order to start reimagining the sketchbook as the foundation of artistic practice.
For ages 14-19, all levels of experience are welcomed.
