DrawNow! Online! with Isabella Kapur
In this participatory drawing workshop, The Drawing Center's Curatorial Assistant and practicing artist Isabella Kapur speaks about drawings by Neo Rauch from the 2019 exhibition Neo Rauch: Aus dem Boden / From the Floor. Kapur discusses Rauch's understanding of form and narrative, and how he breaks rules in both those areas to create work that perplexes the viewer and draws them into his surreal compositions. The accompanying drawing exercise explores how to think about form differently through a simple technique Rauch uses in his own drawing practice.
This workshop was recorded via Zoom on May 7, 2020.
