Alexandre Singh: The Pledge

New York-based artist and writer Alexandre Singh’s work derives at once from literature, performance, photo-conceptualism, and object-based installation art. Accompanying Alexandre Singh: The Pledge, the first solo North American exhibition of works by the artist, this publication features works from the newest installment of the artist’s Assembly Instruction series, in which Singh organizes photocopied materials into large diagrammatic arrangements connected by hand-drawn pencil dots on the wall. A curatorial essay by Claire Gilman, and texts by artist Jill Magid, curator, writer, and dramaturge Andre Lepecki, and author Vincenzo Latronico explore Singh’s drawings within the artist’s complex and wide-ranging overarching practice.
