Zine Workshop: Certainly an Act

This hands-on zine-making workshop inspired by our current exhibition Certainly an Act: Works on Paper by Pope.L, a comprehensive survey of more than two hundred works that reveals drawing as a central, expansive, and generative force in the artist's practice, invites participants to engage with Pope.L's playful, critical, and deeply inventive approach to image-making and language.

What is an invisible material? Referencing Pope.L's Hole Theory text, participants will preserve the complexities of holes, responding to their endless potential and perceived lack in the form of a zine. This workshop will explore how Pope.L transformed drawing into a space for humor, contradiction, vulnerability, and critique through various zine making and material experimentation. In collaboration with artist Ron Baker and Misplaced Press. There will be an opportunity to browse and purchase zines from the organizations' archive.

This event is free and open to the public. All materials will be provided.
