Thessia Machado and Ranjit Bhatnagar: Performance
In tandem with our ongoing Gabriel de la Mora exhibition, Open Sessions artist Thessia Machado is performing with sound sculptor Ranjit Bhatnagar. Machado and Bhatnagar will explore the musical possibilities of humble, overlooked materials and sounds, performing with a sound-powered drawing machine, a turntable with laser-cut texture record, repurposed toys, and an assortment of noisemakers.
Thessia Machado’s practice explores the innate relationships between sound and visual perception. Machado is currently a resident of Harvestworks Digital Media Arts Center.
Ranjit Bhatnagar is a sound sculptor who creates an instrument every day as part of an ongoing series. Each of Bhatnagar's instruments is made from found objects that have been transformed into noise-making sculptures.
