Opening Reception: Drawing Out

June 21, 2023, 4:00pm – 7:00pm

Sofia Musyuk, P.S. 42 Benjamin Altman School

Join us for a reception to celebrate the opening of Drawing Out, an exhibition featuring drawings made by elementary and high school students who participated in The Drawing Center’s 2022-2023 education programs: Drawing Connections and Drawing All Stars 2.0 with Teen Art Salon. Serving students locally in New York City, our education offerings encourage young people to develop their own artistic practices and examine drawing’s role in contemporary culture and creative thought.

Drawing Out is made possible with the dedication, commitment and excellence of teaching artists Laura Bernstein, Isabella Bustamante, Nic Annette Miller, Avani Patel, and Aneesa Razak. It is curated by Aimee Good, The Drawing Center’s Director of Education and Community Programs.

Education and Community Programs at The Drawing Center are made possible by the May and Samuel Rudin Family Foundation, Inc. Major support is provided by the Evelyn Toll Family Foundation and the LeRoy Neiman and Janet Byrne Neiman Foundation. Additional support is provided by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council through the CreateNYC Language Access Fund, the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature, the Cornelia T. Bailey Foundation, the Jacques and Natasha Gelman Foundation, the Milton and Sally Avery Arts Foundation, and the M&T Charitable Foundation.
