Zine Workshop: The Way I See It
Create your own zine at The Drawing Center! Inspired by our current exhibition The Way I See It: Selections from the KAWS Collection—which challenges traditional artistic hierarchies by featuring everything from comics, commercial illustrations, and graffiti sketches to abstract expressionist drawings—this hands-on workshop will explore the spirit of underground publishing. Participants will learn zine-making techniques while discovering artists who have embraced alternative publishing models, illustration, graphic design, printmaking, and drawing.
Organized in collaboration with Teen Art Salon, 8-Ball Community, and Misplaced Press, the workshop will also offer an opportunity to browse and purchase zines from the organizations' archives.
This event is free and open to the public. All art materials will be provided.
Major support for The Way I See It: Selections from the KAWS Collection is provided by Neuberger Berman Private Wealth; the Outsider Art Fair; Skarstedt, New York; Christie’s Art Finance; and UNIQLO. Special thanks to 2x4 and Human Made.
