Join musician, artist, and Brooklyn-based DJ Tiffany Shi for a participatory workshop on the rich intersection of music and drawing.
From Greek avant-garde composer Iannis Xenakis, and The Drawing Center's 2010 exhibition Iannis Xenakis: Composer, Architect, Visionary, to contemporary musicians and graphical composers such as Wadada Leo Smith, Anthony Braxton, Yuji Takahashi, José Maceda, and composer and cartoonist Cathy Berberian, Shi will explore the link between music and drawing by guiding participants in rendering musical scores with a curated playlist.
Free DrawNow! workshops are made possible by the Cy Twombly Foundation.
The Drawing Center's Education and Community Programs are made possible by the May and Samuel Rudin Family Foundation, Inc. Major support is provided by The Evelyn Toll Family Foundation.
Additional support is provided, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council, The Robert Rauschenberg Foundation, and the Milton and Sally Avery Arts Foundation.
