DrawNow! Art In Flower: Finding Inspiration in Art and Nature
Join Lindsey Taylor, garden designer and author of Art in Flower, for an interactive floral arrangement workshop inspired by the exhibition Frank Walter: To Capture A Soul. The in-gallery workshop will take place amongst Walter's artworks, which range from impressionistic, brightly-colored landscapes and bold abstract cosmological compositions to expressive linear portraits.
Published in 2023, Art in Flower: Finding Inspiration in Art and Nature is an original take on floral design that teaches us to see the world anew. Based on her popular and long-running Wall Street Journal column Flower School, floral designer and horticulturalist Lindsey Taylor translates the palettes, compositions, brushstrokes, and mood of works of art into floral arrangements. In this workshop, Taylor will walk participants through her signature intuitive and creative process of interpreting artwork with flowers and foliage and introduces us to a unique practice that combines slowing down to look more closely at art and the natural world around us.
Please note all botanical material and vessels will be provided for participants. All drawing materials will be provided.
