Closing Reception: Andrea Bowers and Suzanne Lacy: Drawing Lessons + Open Sessions Exhibition, ACTION + OBJECT + EXCHANGE

On March 23rd we will celebrate the conclusion of a nine-day performance (March 15 - 23), Andrea Bowers and Suzanne Lacy: Drawing Lessons, during which Andrea Bowers will attempt to teach Suzanne Lacy to draw.Drawing Lessons will be a platform for conversations; resultant drawings; video projection; and the installation of the lesson environment—lights, platform, drawing easels, etc. As they work together under scrutiny of the audience, Bowers and Lacy will explore questions that also arise in their independent practices. Building on the history of immersive performance, both artists will live in the gallery throughout the course of the show.

In addition, the closing reception will celebrate our first exhibition of Open Sessions, a two-year program with over fifty artists working in a variety of disciplines. The first Open Sessions exhibition,ACTION + OBJECT + EXCHANGE will feature the work of Eleanor Aldrich, Derek Dunlop, Heather Hart, Yara Pina, Andrew Ross, Lauren Seiden, and Barbara Weissberger.
