Selections 50

September 22 – November 2, 1990

Selections 50, the first exhibition of the Drawing Center's 1990–1991 season, presented the work of eight promising artists: Manuel Acevedo, Fernando Colon, Fred Holland, Wen Yi Hou, Dan McCarthy, Marlene McCarty, Julie Melton, and Howard Schwartzberg. Part of an ongoing series, the exhibition offered a forum for examining the wide range of issues found in contemporary drawing.

Selections 50 was one in a continuing series of exhibitions that brought the work of emerging artists from across the nation and abroad to public attention. All of the featured artists had participated in The Drawing Center's Viewing Program, a service which offered emerging artists an opportunity to present drawing to the curatorial staff for professional feedback and to be considered for inclusion in an exhibition.

There was a symposium on Wednesday, October 10, at 7 pm, during which the artists in the exhibition discussed their work.

Curated through The Drawing Center’s Viewing Program.
