Selections 42
September 2 – October 1, 1988
The Drawing Center opened the 1988–1989 season with Selections 42, a group exhibition featuring new work by sixteen emerging artists discovered through The Drawing Center's unique Viewing Program. Since the last Selections exhibition in March, the curatorial staff had reviewed the work of more than six hundred artists. From that group, the following were chosen to participate in Selections 42: Eve Aschheim, Amanda Barrow, Jane Fine, Nancy Friese, Gary Goldberg, Prudencio Irazabal, Michael Kareken, Tom Koken, Kathleen E. Kucka, Thomas Lyon Mills, Michael Mulhern, Kathryn Myers, Carol Parlato, Herman Steins, Po Shu Wang, and Harvey Weiss.
All of the artists included in Selections 42 participated in a symposium at The Drawing Center on Wednesday, September 28 at 7:00 pm. The artists discussed their work and answered questions from the audience. Admission was free and the public was invited.
Curated through The Drawing Center’s Viewing Program.
