For her first New York exhibition, contemporary Belgian artist Joëlle Tuerlinckx creates a new project filled with stretch drawings, floating forms, moving points, and flat shapes that index the measurements and scale of the space. Lengths of thread, elastic bands, rolls of paper, drawn-out screenings, areas of light projection, and numbers of paces are all tools for tracing the experience of The Drawing Center as processed through Tuerlinckx’s thinking.
