Eleanore Mikus: From Shell to Skin presented the remarkable and under-recognized oeuvre of Eleanore Mikus by focusing on the core formal concerns present in her work from the 1960s until her death. A selection of early drawings and paintings featured several of Mikus's "Tablets" from the early 1960s and "Paperfolds" from the later 1960s and the decades that followed. Subtle shadows on the uneven topographies of the monochromatic paintings and patterned grids of the folded paper works created what Mikus termed a "kinesthetic moving surface."
