Beginning in the 1990s, Daniel Verbis has worked across many artistic mediums, including collage, drawing, and sculpture. In his late-1990s solo exhibition at The Drawing Center, Verbis deconstructed his work in a dynamic, experimental, and thought provoking way.
The Drawing Center received support from the following: Frances Beatty Adler and Allen Adler, Dita Amory, James Bodnar, The Enterprise Foundation, Katherine Farley and Jerry I. Speyer, Fifth Floor Foundation, Gulielmetti & Gesmer, P.C., Abby and Mitch Leigh, William D. Rollnick and Nancy Ellison Rollnick Foundation, and Andrea Woodner. Additional support was from The Drawing Center's National Council, a new initiative to provide financial support for The Drawing Center's 40 Wooster Street expansion project as well as for its contemporary programs. It functioned long-term as a national group of individuals who fostered the Center's continued growth and vitality by providing annual financial support for its programs and activities.
