Cyrilla Mozenter: Very Well Saint

The Cyrilla Mozenter: Very Well Saint exhibition consisted of a series of drawings, the title of which was adapted from the phrase “very well saints,” which was used by Gertrude Stein in her libretto for Virgil Thompson’s opera Four Saints in Three Acts. Mozenter’s drawings reflected a singsong pattern of interrelated visual references, with an inspired sense of play that can be likened to Stein’s inventive use of language.
