Nasreen Mohamedi: Lines among Lines presents the contemplative abstract drawings and photographs of the under-recognized Indian artist Nasreen Mohamedi (1937–1990). Mohamedi's spare drawings were informed by ideas of modernity and by the geometry of Islamic architecture. The exhibition features thirty of the artist's fine-line drawings created from the early 1960s to the late 1980s, as well as fifteen of her black-and-white photographs. The exhibition highlights the exchange between drawing and photography throughout Mohamedi's work. In both media, the artist reduces structures and spaces to patterns of diagonals and planes.
